Implementation period: 05.2012 – 08.2014
The railway Corridor X through the Republic of North Macedonia (215 km) operates as a single-track electrified railway line. The project is prepared to meet the demand of better railway connections along the international corridor in order to increase its capacity and for better connectivity of North Macedonia with the European Union members and neighbouring countries thus being a prerequisite for sustainable development of the railway infrastructure along Corridor X and its Xd branch.
The main activities implemented under the contract are:
Preparation of feasibility study, detailed design, financial analysis, and environmental impact assessment for the reconstruction of the section Bitola – Kremenica (16 km) as part of the Xd branch of the Corridor;
Preparation of feasibility study, preliminary design and detailed design, financial analysis, and environmental impact assessment for the reconstruction of the section Kumanovo – Deliadrovci (14 km);
Preparation of feasibility study, financial analysis and environmental impact assessment for the reconstruction of the section Drachevo – Veles (35 km).
